We're excited to bring you a fascinating glimpse into the wildlife along the Wakool River. We have had our camera's set and Songmeter's recording for weeks and are ready to show you what we have found. Bring your hat, water bottle and chair, and join us for this rare opportunity to look at the wildlife on a BCT protected property.

Special Guests:

  • Nigel Jones from BCT: Learn how to set up and record wildlife using cameras so you can monitor your own areas
  • Samantha Davies from PEG: Look at the local water bugs in our waterways and learn their roles in the ecosystem
  • Nadiah Roslan from Frog I.D: Learn about local frog species and tools you can use to identify them!
  • More to be announced....

Learn from our subject matter experts and see what citizen science opportunities are available for you to be involved with wildlife conservation in our backyard.

Fun for the Whole Family:

  • BBQ dinner to give you the energy for our fun-filled activities
  • Wildlife Spotting Walk along the river to spot wildlife
  • Help identify wildlife in the region
  • Learn how to create species friendly habitats
  • Help build bait balls for monitoring equipment
  • And plenty more!

RSVP's are essential. Parking at the site is extremely limited and carpooling is recommended. Please contact Tahlia at tahlia.stewart@wmlig.org if you have any questions.
