Event Description

M2T4 - Koala Field Day - Coomba

Join us at Mat and Melanie’s beautiful Conservation Property in Shallow Bay, where they run a high quality local native nursery and live amongst a forest of prime koala habitat. Learn to identify local koala food trees, as well as how to collect and propagate seed to grow on your own property. We will also be joined by Jack, from Canines for Wildlife and his team of excellent koala detection dogs, who will demonstrate their prowess at finding koalas in forested ecosystems by scent alone.

Staff from the Biodiversity Conservation Trust, Council and Landcare will be available to offer support and share their expertise about Koala programs and what you can do to support this iconic species on your property. You will also have the opportunity to meet other Conservation Agreement landholders and discuss shared interests around biodiversity, restoration and conservation.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

This event is part of the Private Land Conservation Matters program, funded by the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust in partnership with Landcare NSW and supported locally by MidCoast Council.
