Join us at our event, Threatened Species Investigations in the Macdonald Valley for the opportunity to watch presentations prepared by experts such as Dr Michelle Ryan who conducts platypus research from Western Sydney University and more, allowing us to learn about what it takes to assist in the protection of threatened species. Have lunch with us and come on a field trip to discuss the sustainable management of private land and to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about protecting our native flora and fauna.
We will be welcoming interested locals, NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust and Land for Wildlife conservation agreement-holders and any other nature enthusiasts to this event.
We look forward to you joining us for a full day workshop to learn from our threatened species experts about:
- Local threatened species
- How to identify threatened species and their habitats
- Threatening issues
- Restoring habitat for threatened species
- How to mitigate negative impacts

Comment from host (LLC)
It was lovely to see so many community members, landholders, locals, and people from outside of town, congregate in the valley to share this morning of education, discussion, and awareness.
The presenters’ names.
- Steffan Geisler (Wildlife ecologist NSW BCT)
- Dr Michelle Ryan (Western Sydney University Head of Platypus Research Team and Hawkesbury Nepean Riverkeeper)
- The other person who spoke was a landholder with a LFW property in the MacDonald Valley who is building a wildlife corridor. His name is Neil Hitchcock.
