Are you interested in seeing what wildlife you live with? Then Royalla Landcare invite you to join us for a free information and workshop event. Come along and listen, learn and play with some of the survey tools available to landholders. See what citizen science apps are around and hear what NatureMapr is doing for community.

Upper Murrumbidgee Landcare had an inspiring and informative session at Royalla, diving deep into the world of wildlife surveillance and monitoring. The event brought together passionate experts and enthusiastic participants eager to learn more about our incredible local fauna and how to observe them effectively.
Markus Buchhorn kicked off the session with a detailed presentation on wildlife cameras—highlighting their setup, functionality, and the amazing insights they provide into the lives of our native species. Stuart Harris followed with an engaging talk on citizen science apps, showcasing the many ways technology empowers community members to contribute valuable data for conservation efforts.
Georgeanna Storey rounded out the session by discussing the how and why of wildlife monitoring. Together, we explored the significance of tracking species, understanding ecosystems, and the steps we can all take to support biodiversity in our region.
A special thank you to Markus and Stuart for sharing their expertise and enthusiasm. It’s not every day you meet someone who regularly discovers new species or witness incredible moments, like a wedge-tailed eagle enjoying a bath!
This session was a fantastic demonstration of how collaboration and innovative tools can strengthen our understanding and appreciation of the biodiversity around us. Participants left feeling more confident in their ability to monitor wildlife on their own properties, inspired and equipped with enthusiasm to contribute to conservation efforts.
